Street Outlaws' Daddy Dave is Back: Stronger, Faster, and Ready!

Daddy Dave, a fan favorite from Street Outlaws, is back with a bang, showcasing more determination and skill than ever. Known for his consistent performances and commitment to innovation in the drag racing world, Daddy Dave (David Comstock) has solidified his status as one of the top racers in No Prep Kings (NPK). After years of close calls and near misses, 2023 marked a breakthrough for him with his first-ever NPK Invitational win at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The Audi S5 and the Winning Strategy

Dave's long-awaited victory came behind the wheel of a newly built Audi S5, a departure from his well-known Goliath 2.0 Nova. The car, built by Tynan Race Cars and equipped with a 540 Hemi engine from Xtreme Racing Engines, sports a ProCharger that helps it deliver tremendous powe. The build was part of a strategic shift by Daddy Dave to compete more fiercely against other top racers like Ryan Martin, Kye Kelley, and Lizzy Musi.

This win was a culmination of months of preparation and overcoming technical challenges. In the same event where he claimed his victory, Daddy Dave faced mechanical difficulties when his rear axle tube twisted, threatening to derail his race weekend altogether. However, thanks to a last-minute replacement part from his partner Brian Hamm at Hammer Concepts, Dave's team worked through the night to repair the car, enabling him to get back on the track in time.

The Race and the Challenges

Dave's return to top form was not easy. The competition at No Prep Kings has grown more intense, and each round has become a high-stakes battle. His road to the Invitational win involved taking down formidable opponents like Joe "Dominator" Woods, David Gates, and Justin Swanstrom. His quarterfinal victory against Swanstrom was particularly crucial, setting the stage for his win in the final against Nate Sayler.

Dave noted how much tougher the competition has become compared to earlier seasons. In his words, the days of easy wins are over—every racer is now a serious contender. His focus has shifted from just surviving rounds to mastering every aspect of the race, from reaction time at the lights to car control at high speeds.

Daddy Dave's Team and Future Plans

In No Prep Kings, team performance is just as important as individual skill, and Daddy Dave's choice of team members has proven strategic. Together with Larry "Axman" Roach, Kayla Morton, Kyle Canion, and Joe Woods, Team Daddy Dave is tied for the lead in the team championship. This resurgence of form reflects Dave’s ability to not only race but also lead a cohesive, effective team.

Daddy Dave's win comes as a boost not just for his individual goals, but for his team's aspirations of winning the overall championship. Roach's individual points lead, and Morton's strong performances ensure that Team Daddy Dave is well-positioned to finish the season strong.

As for the future, Dave has hinted that he's looking forward to more wins and championships, whether it's on an individual or team basis. He remains a top contender for both the team and individual titles as the season progresses. His Audi S5, now proven in competition, will continue to be a major threat in future races.

Stronger Than Ever

Daddy Dave's return to form in 2023 and 2024 signals that he’s far from done in the world of Street Outlaws. His victory at Beech Bend Raceway Park was a long time coming, but it also marked a turning point in his career. With renewed confidence and a stronger car, Daddy Dave is not just back—he’s back stronger and faster than ever.

Fans can expect him to remain a central figure in the Street Outlaws universe, bringing more high-speed action, smart race strategies, and perhaps more mystery vehicles in future seasons. As the No Prep Kings series heats up, Daddy Dave’s presence will continue to be felt, both on and off the track.
