Roseanne Barr has once again thrust herself into the spotlight, and this time it’s for a pro-Donald Trump rap music video titled Daddy’s Home. Teaming up with Canadian rapper Tom MacDonald, the former sitcom star attempts to blend political commentary, humor, and hip-hop—but the results have left many scratching their heads.

The video, released recently, features Barr dressed in an eye-catching ensemble of blond box braids, gold chains, and oversized sunglasses. She delivers lines aimed at cancel culture, the 2020 election, and even legendary rapper Eminem. The lyrics include lines such as, “We won, you mad, it’s done, too bad, boo hoo, so sad,” while MAGA-centric imagery flashes on screen.

In her verse, Barr raps, “They try to cancel me and say I’m a racist. I got a mean hook, they can’t get me with that jam. Trying to take away my right to go and say this. Well, listen up, cuz this Granny’s going bad.” The performance also includes Barr flipping off the camera and shaking her butt at one point, adding to the video’s over-the-top tone.

Perhaps the most eyebrow-raising moment comes when Barr seemingly calls out Eminem, saying, “Screw Eminem, I’m Roseanne.” While it’s unclear if this was meant to be a playful jab or a serious diss, the comparison has drawn mixed reactions online.

Barr also takes what appears to be a shot at her former TV series, Roseanne, and its spinoff The Conners. “Why they trying to turn Becky into Dan?” she raps, referencing two prominent characters from the franchise. Fans have interpreted this as a critique of her character being written out of the series after her controversial 2018 tweet.

A Troubled History with Controversy

The video reignites discussions about Barr’s tumultuous past, particularly her firing from the Roseanne reboot in 2018. ABC canceled the show after Barr posted a tweet comparing Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to former President Barack Obama, to an ape. While Barr apologized, the damage was done, and the show returned as The Conners without her involvement.

In recent years, Barr has aligned herself with conservative figures, gaining attention for her outspoken support of Donald Trump and controversial remarks. Her claim that “nobody died in the Holocaust” sparked widespread backlash, particularly because Barr herself is Jewish.

Public Reactions to the Video

The internet has been buzzing with reactions to Daddy’s Home. While some praised Barr for embracing her unapologetic style, others criticized the video as cringe-worthy and inflammatory. Eminem fans, in particular, have dismissed her attempt to “start beef” with the rapper.

Whether seen as a bold statement or an ill-conceived publicity stunt, Barr’s latest venture ensures one thing: she knows how to keep people talking.
