Lamorne Morris and Glen Powell: A Bromance Built on Abs and Friendly Competition

In Hollywood, where friendships can sometimes be as fleeting as the latest blockbuster, the bond between Lamorne Morris and Glen Powell stands out for its genuine camaraderie—and a dash of friendly rivalry. Their friendship, which likely started during the filming of the 2014 comedy Sex Ed, has evolved into one of playful competition, especially when it comes to who can rock a shirtless look better.

The Friendship That Began on Set

Lamorne Morris and Glen Powell first crossed paths while working on Sex Ed, a movie that, while not a box office smash, seemed to be the start of a beautiful friendship. Though the exact timeline of their bond remains a bit of a mystery, Lamorne has openly referred to Glen as "one of [his] best friends." Their relationship has been characterized by humor, mutual respect, and a bit of jealousy—on Lamorne's part, at least.

Abs of Jealousy: The Podcast Revelations

In a recent episode of Lamorne’s podcast, The Lamorning After, the New Girl alum didn’t hold back when talking about his competitive feelings toward Glen, especially when it comes to their respective physiques. On the August 8th episode, Lamorne shared a hilarious yet relatable story about how Glen’s washboard abs have been both a blessing and a curse in their friendship.

According to Lamorne, whenever a “pretty girl walks in,” Glen is the first to take his shirt off. This move, Lamorne joked, has made it hard for him to keep up, especially when they’re out together. The tipping point, it seems, came during Lamorne's 40th birthday celebration—a milestone event that took them all the way to Greece.

The Greece Incident: Glen Powell, the Ultimate Showstopper

During the podcast, Lamorne recounted how Glen stole the spotlight at his birthday bash. The group had rented a boat, and everything was going smoothly—until Glen decided it was time to show off those famous abs. According to Lamorne, as soon as Glen took his shirt off, he instantly became the center of attention, surrounded by "10 girls" in no time.

But the day took a dramatic turn when a man nearby fell off a cliff into the water. True to his heroic nature, Glen dived in to save the man, channeling his inner "David Hasselhoff from Baywatch." The act was both life-saving and, in Lamorne's eyes, incredibly annoying. "He's an actual hero, and that's why I hate him," Lamorne quipped, adding that Glen's heroic and chiseled persona was part of the reason he decided to get in shape himself.

A Friendship Rooted in Respect and Humor

While Lamorne may joke about his envy, it’s clear that his friendship with Glen is built on a solid foundation of respect and admiration. The two have supported each other through various career milestones and personal moments, proving that even in the cutthroat world of Hollywood, genuine friendships can thrive.

Lamorne's playful jabs at Glen's abs and heroic deeds are just part of the charm of their relationship. Behind the jokes and the competitive banter, there's a deep bond that likely won't be shaken, no matter how many times Glen takes his shirt off in public.

So, while Lamorne Morris might give his best friend grief over being a "show-off," it’s all in good fun. After all, every bromance needs a little bit of friendly competition to keep things interesting.
