Aaron's dedication to fabricating intricate and challenging vehicles is what endears him to his substantial fan base. Join us as we delve into his truly exceptional car collection. Born in Crowley, Texas, Aaron's early exposure to his father's endeavors as an art and automotive enthusiast played a pivotal role in igniting his fervor for anything with four wheels. He derives immense satisfaction from dismantling and meticulously reconstructing components with astonishing precision. During his high school years, he honed these skills as a side pursuit, often keeping his parents awake with the clatter of tools, welding, and metalwork in their driveway.

After graduating from high school, Aaron embarked on a journey through college, specializing in the field of fabrication. A turning point in his career occurred when he secured a position at the Ford Motor Company. Working at Ford not only deepened his passion for custom vehicles but also provided him with the opportunity to work on prototype cars, gaining invaluable insights into the intricacies of automotive design. It was during this phase that his exceptional talents caught the attention of Richard Rawlings, who chanced upon the local garage where Aaron plied his trade.

Upon their fortuitous encounter, Aaron, already an accomplished hot rodder, mechanic, and fabricator, was extended an invitation by Rawlings to join his team. In a few short years, Aaron ascended to the role of lead mechanic at Gas Monkey Garage. His primary focus at the garage involved resurrecting vehicles bound for the scrapyard, a process he aptly referred to as 'adaptive reuse.' However, rejuvenating discarded automobiles to meet industry standards was a task that demanded unwavering determination, creative ingenuity, and an abundance of expertise-qualities that Rawlings recognized and appreciated, leading to their joint success in the televised realm with 'Fast and Loud.'

In 2012, Aaron, along with Richard, became an international sensation as 'Fast and Loud' introduced Richard Rawlings and his team, which prominently featured Aaron, to the global audience. The premise of the show involved tracking down dilapidated vehicles, and under Aaron's leadership as the head mechanic, they would be meticulously restored and modified before being sold for a profit. However, in 2017, Aaron parted ways with the show and Gas Monkey Garage. His lifelong aspiration had always been to rejuvenate abandoned automobiles, and the show's format didn't align with his vision.

Aaron articulated his departure, stating, 'I yearned to construct cars of larger scale or greater complexity, but television required vehicles of significantly smaller stature.' This yearning consumed him, as his love for the craft was all-encompassing. Television productions like 'Fast and Loud' operated under time constraints that precluded Aaron from undertaking more substantial projects.

Subsequently, Aaron embarked on a new venture, establishing his workshop. He handpicked a team of like-minded mechanics, giving birth to ArcLight Fabrication. In the domain of automobile customization, Aaron Kaufman stands as a rare breed of mechanic. Fans have been privy to his endeavors in creating remarkable vehicles, marked by cutting-edge designs and intricate mechanical craftsmanship. Yet, Aaron's own choice of automobiles has remained a well-guarded secret, until now.

Aaron's preference leans towards the AC Cobra, though his initial foray into driving featured a 1968 Ford F-100. At the age of 16, his first vehicle was a Jeep Cherokee, not his dream car by any means. Nonetheless, Aaron's innate inclination towards tinkering led him to repeatedly disassemble and reconstruct it, consistently improving its condition. Subsequently, he transitioned to a 2004 Ford F-150, a vehicle that continues to be a canvas for his ongoing modifications.

Among the myriad of vehicles he's worked on, Aaron holds a special affinity for the 1959 Chevy Delivery, affectionately dubbed 'Gasser,' a standout project from the show's second season. Transforming a classic Chevy into a high-performance drag car was a testament to his skills. Season three saw the birth of 'Scout,' a 1963 Ford Econoline converted into a sleek and stylish custom cruiser, another milestone in his career.

One of his most recognizable undertakings came in the fourth season, collaborating with the Gas Monkey Garage crew to replicate the 1977 Trans Am from 'Smokey and the Bandit.' In the fifth season, Aaron embarked on a modernization project for a 1956 Chevrolet Nomad named 'Tri-5,' involving a new engine and suspension, resurrecting this classic wagon for the open road.

Upon exiting 'Fast and Loud' and Gas Monkey Garage, Aaron continued his pursuit of automotive artistry. At ArcLight Fabrication, his team's transformation of a 1937 International School Bus into the ultimate Batman-themed fan vehicle, the 'Arkham Asylum Bus,' is a standout accomplishment. Featuring a custom-built Batwing hood, suicide doors, and an interior meticulously crafted to evoke the iconic Arkham Asylum, this project is a tribute to the Dark Knight and a dream for his enthusiasts.

Another noteworthy post-Gas Monkey Garage venture is the 'Falconer Project,' a collaboration with Falconer Industries resulting in a unique vehicle boasting 1200 horsepower and a top speed exceeding 200 miles per hour. While Aaron's portfolio may suggest a penchant for classic cars, he's defied such expectations.

In 2021, Aaron teamed up with Daily Driven Exotics to craft a twin-turbo Ferrari F12 with an astounding 1200 horsepower. These diverse projects underscore the breadth of Aaron's impressive body of work, which extends beyond vehicle customization to include racing.

In 2015, Aaron entered the Speed Energy Formula Off-Road series, navigating a truck sponsored by Toyo Tires at the Sand Sport Super Show in Costa Mesa, California. His performance yielded fifth-place finishes in both heat races and respectable 10th and eighth-place finishes in the features. Beyond off-road endeavors, Aaron has also ventured into the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. In 2022, he tackled the race with his 1949 Ford F1, completing the challenging 12.42-mile course in just over 14 minutes.

Aaron's unique ability to multitask distinguishes him in the fabrication industry. While he was a prominent figure on 'Fast and Loud,' he commanded a salary of approximately $50,000 per episode. Combined with the returns from his establishment, Arc Fab, his net worth is estimated at an impressive eight million dollars.

Upon leaving the show to establish ArcLight Fabrication, it appeared that Aaron might retreat from the television spotlight for good. However, Discovery Channel executives extended an opportunity that led to his solo show, 'Shifting Gears with Aaron Kaufman.' Nonetheless, his primary focus remains on ArcLight Fabrication. Since its inception in 2017, Aaron has been unwavering in his commitment to specialize in extensive projects, characterized by prolonged timelines but imbued with uniqueness.
