Ever since his arrival in Darrowby, veterinarian James Herriot has been captivated by Helen Alderson, the daughter of a local farmer. Initially feeling hesitant and shy, he struggled to find the perfect moment to express his feelings. Unfortunately, he missed his opportunity as Helen became engaged to Hugh Hulton, leaving James with a sense of regret.

The straightforward answer is no, as the actress who portrays Helen, Shenton, is happily married to actor Chris Overton. They exchanged vows in 2018, and Overton is renowned for his work as an actor and director, notably for his film The Silent Child. Shenton wrote and starred in the film, which earned Overton an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. Overton has also produced Six More Sleeps and Dalston Heath and has acted in various series including Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Hollyoaks, and Drifters. Reflecting on her wedding day, Shenton shared with The Sun, "We got married not that long ago amidst all the chaos!"

Regarding their wedding, Shenton shared, "We wanted to keep it private, so it was a very private event. But despite that, I am incredibly happy. It has been a fantastic year, and I'm uncertain about what the next year will bring!" Their wedding took place seven months after their success at the Academy Awards for The Silent Child.

In terms of Ralph, there isn't much disclosed about his personal life or relationships. However, he has mentioned that Cape Town, his birthplace where he spent his first year, holds a special place in his heart and is the love of his life.

While confessing that his celebrity crush is Gwyneth Paltrow, Ralph has not revealed any details about his relationship status.

Both Ralph and Shenton shared their experiences of filming the second season of All Creatures Great and Small, expressing their delight in reuniting with the rest of the cast. They described it as a heartwarming experience to be back on set together.

Reflecting on their reunion, Shenton remarked, "We hadn't been in each other's presence for such an extended period! Due to the remote nature of press events, conducted via Zoom from our living rooms, we didn't have the chance to spend time together. It took a moment to readjust to being back on set; I hadn't worn jeans in a year! However, we swiftly regained our rhythm, supported one another, and immersed ourselves in the work."

Ralph discussed the memorable romantic moment between Helen and James during the village dance. He shared, "Rachel and I put in a lot of effort to perfect our dance, and I believe we managed to make it look quite impressive."

James, according to Ralph, mentioned that his mother used to take him to tea dances where he would dance with her and other older ladies. As a result, he has some dancing skills, but he feels self-conscious about it and is cautious not to step on Helen's toes.
